Haryana | Commercial | Architectural
Project site is located in a crowded market area but is very calming inside having a lot of trees. The building is proposed to be introvert enjoying the dense trees and also ignoring the noisy markets and residential colonies facilitating no direct views outside.
Other than the vegetation, the site has few existing structures. A heritage entrance gate is the most prominent and is to be blended in design aesthetics. The Gate in the proposal is a formal pedestrian entrance and rest all the space has the building blocks retaining all of the trees.
This existing vegetation on site is blended it with built form & landscape. The Heritage gateway is the center of the symmetry and the building is planned reacting to it physically.
Formal grid planning is done following a central axis from heritage gateway to the huge arched bridge, maintaining the symmetry of the site. A Huge pedestrian pathways leading to the main piazza below the arched bridge with common waiting and mass interaction area further leading to different blocks of the shopping complex.
A dedicated entry is provided for the independent commercial space (banquet or office) at the east corner of the site near to the entrance to avoid the cluttering of visitors. Independent shops/kiosks are provided around the central area with organic form language and landscaped roofs.
Zoning has been done keeping in mind universal design principles. Buffer Spaces between the inside and the outside are planned to receive least direct sunlight becoming central social interaction areas. The building facade has a screen in the facade planned to cut out south side sun without blocking indirect natural lighting.
The planning is done in such a way keeping independent blocks all over the site retaining trees and facilitating the wind flow naturally.
Proposed facilities include Shops, Anchor stores,Multiplexes,Gaming zone, gym, spa, Office/banquet/ conference spaces.
Spaces are planned to be self-directing and there should not be any sign of confusion. Visually interconnected spaces help users to identify major touch points. Also cutouts are provided at multiple levels helping users to have a sense of orientation.Cut-outs & slits are provided in the direction of the wind movement for natural ventilation creating comfortable open spaces to sit and interact.
